There are several things to remember to bring along when you are going on an expedition with Hurtigruten. To make packing easier, following is a packing list covering both polar areas and expeditions in cooler and warmer environments. If you forget something, don’t worry, Hurtigruten has a gift shop onboard all ships with a wide range of clothes and practical items.

The key is to dress in layers! Winter jacket, wind- and water-resistant pants, thermal underwear, warm hat and scarf, gloves, socks, swimwear for hot tub or sauna, sweater, comfortable shoes for excursions, sunglasses with UV-filter lenses, and extra camera batteries.

The key is to dress in fast-drying clothes that can be layered! Light, water-resistant rain jacket for warm days or cool evenings, short-and long-sleeved t-shirts with UV-filter, shorts, comfortable pants, wide-brimmed hat, swimwear for hot tub, sauna or a beach visit, sandals, sunglasses, insect repellent, and sunscreen.
