Introduction

Visiting Kuwait City, Kuwait, today, you'd hardly know the whole Iraq tragedy began there with an invasion ordered by Saddam Hussein in 1990. Not only are there no signs of the war, but Kuwait is utterly peaceful and safe (if you exclude the frenetic traffic on the roads). This modern capital sitting on the Arabian Gulf seems to have recovered completely from the Gulf War—little evidence of the fighting remains.
