Downpatrick

Downpatrick

Overview

Introduction

Known throughout Ireland as St. Patrick's final resting place, Downpatrick, Northern Ireland—an easy 25-mi/40-km trip south of Belfast—is said to hold the saint's remains at the Down Cathedral. The St. Patrick Heritage Centre is a window into the life and times of Ireland's patron saint. Nearby is Saul, where St. Patrick preached his first sermon. You might hear more prayers at the Downpatrick Racecourse, but they'll be decidedly secular. https://www.ireland.com/destinations/northern-ireland/county-down/downpatrick/all/2-74155.
