Ste Rose

Ste Rose

Overview

Introduction

At the eastern end of the St. Philippe lava flow, the Notre Dame de Lave Church in the coastal town of Ste. Rose was miraculously spared by a massive lava flow in 1977—lava entered the church, but didn't reach the altar. The church would be interesting to visit even if you were unfamiliar with the geological events. 30 mi/50 km southeast of St. Denis.
