Mckenzie River
Overview
Introduction
East of Springfield, Highway 126 follows the beautiful, blue McKenzie River through little resort communities shadowed by towering Douglas firs. River guides can be hired for rafting or for steelhead, salmon and trout fishing. Those devoted to fly-fishing will love this area. There are also scenic waterfalls, reservoirs for boating and one of Oregon's most scenic 18-hole golf courses. Many Forest Service campgrounds are in the vicinity. Don't miss the incredible view from the McKenzie Pass Highway (in the midst of an ancient lava flow).
