Introduction

One of the most interesting oases in the Sahara, El Oued is noted primarily for its distinctive architecture. It seems as if every building has a dome on it—even the stalls in the marketplace. As a bonus, the town is clean and orderly. See the small museum and lively market. 300 mi/480 km southeast of Algiers.
