Hatta

Hatta

Overview

Introduction

Built in the foothills of the Hajar mountains, Hatta (about 60 mi/100 km from Dubai), United Arab Emirates, is a pretty oasis town in the emirate of Dubai. It's filled with traditional local architecture, including the Juma Mosque, built in 1780. But the real draw is just outside of town in the extensive chain of natural pools and waterfalls cut into the desert rock and filled with floodwaters. They're perfect spots for swimming, and they get crowded on the weekends. The road to the pools is not paved, so it's best to go in a four-wheel-drive vehicle.
