Frenchtown, St. Thomas, was established many years ago by a group of French-speaking immigrants from the Caribbean island of St. Barthelemy, and this fishing village on the western edge of Charlotte Amalie has retained its French flair to this day. On Bastille Day in particular, residents celebrate their heritage with parades, music and frivolity.
The main draw for locals and tourists is the number of excellent restaurants found along Frenchtown's waterside streets, as well as the French Heritage Museum.
