Overview

Introduction

Iran's main Caspian Sea port, Anzali is also the center of the country's caviar industry (tourists can visit a processing factory near the sea). The port has a crumbling Soviet air about it, but it makes a pleasant base for exploring the Caspian region. Ferries connect Bandar-e Anzali with Baku, Azerbaijan. 170 mi/275 km northwest of Tehran.
