Overview

Introduction

This enormous gorge is truly spectacular. The rocky river valley winds its way past the country's highest mountains and sheer cliffs, creating a scene reminiscent of the Grand Canyon in the U.S. The view overlooking the gorge is breathtaking. Adventurous hikers can take a four-hour hike past cliff dwellings and terraces crowded onto narrow ledges midway down the gorge. 90 mi/140 km southwest of Masqat.
