San Vicente

San Vicente

Overview

Introduction

San Vicente, El Salvador, a charming town with a soaring white clock tower, is picturesquely situated in a valley beneath a twin-peaked volcano 28 mi/45 km east of San Salvador. Stroll down the cobblestoned streets, past red-roofed houses, and see the town square and El Pilar, one of El Salvador's oldest colonial churches.

Recreational opportunities abound in the surrounding countryside, including hiking up San Vicente Volcano and swimming in Lago Apastapeque, a small crater lake.
