Kota Batu

Overview

Introduction

This town is the site of the Brunei Museum, which has excellent exhibits of ceramics, Chinese porcelain, bronzeware and natural history. Just below the Brunei Museum, on the edge of the river, is the Malay Technology Museum, which isn't centered around the oil industry, as you might expect, but rather features displays of water village architecture, indigenous handicrafts and the agriculture and hunting traditions of the native inhabitants. Allow a half a day to see it. 4 mi/6 km east of Bandar Seri Begawan.
