Odessa

Odessa

Overview

Introduction

Almost midway between Dover and Wilmington, Odessa dates to the 1600s and has some good examples of Georgian architecture. The top attraction is the district known as the Historic Houses of Odessa (open March-December), which is owned and operated by Winterthur Museum and Gardens.

Just outside the town is the Appoquinimink Friends Meeting House, a stop on the Underground Railroad. Christmas in Odessa, a one-day walking tour of the town's historic buildings, is held in early December.
