This atoll around a beautiful lagoon is noted for mother-of-pearl and black pearls. Oyster farming is a booming industry on Penrhyn. Weekly flights connect the atoll to Rarotonga, but visits are not recommended. 845 mi/1,360 km north of Rarotonga.
