Introduction

Pearl divers make their home on this isolated atoll in the northern Cook Islands. In fact, Manihiki is one of the world's main sources of black pearls. The island now has an airstrip and twice-weekly service from Rarotonga. 750 mi/1,200 km north of Rarotonga.
