Kazvin

Overview

Introduction

Founded in the first century AD, Kazvin has a regional museum and interesting narrow streets. Visit the Friday Mosque and the Hossein mausoleum and check out the local antiques shops. Kazvin is a good place to stay if you're visiting the Valley of the Assassins and its famous castles. The most accessible one is Alamut Castle, about an hour's drive northeast of Kazvin. 75 mi/125 km northwest of Tehran.
