Introduction

Abbas I, the shah responsible for the beautiful mosques of Isfahan, liked Kashan so much that he asked to be buried in it. This oasis town has carpets, pottery, tiles and various Timurid and Seljuk minarets and mosques. Just west of town are the beautiful royal gardens of Bagh-e Fin. Abyanheh, a quaint village near Kashan, is also worth a visit. 160 mi/250 km south of Tehran.
