Szentendre

Szentendre

Overview

Introduction

Known as the City of Museums, Szentendre was founded in medieval times. Plan at least half a day to walk the town's hilly, winding streets among brightly colored buildings. Explore the Margit Kovacs Museum (exhibits of her ceramic work), the Karoly Ferenczy Museum (examples of Hungarian impressionism) and the baroque Orthodox church (and its Serbian Ecclesiastical Arts Collection).

Northwest of town is the Open-Air Ethnographical Museum, a collection of typical Hungarian buildings.
