Overview

Introduction

Home of the celebrated 12th-century poet Nizami Gancavi, the city is considered the country's literary center. It's prettier than most Azerbaijani towns and retains a strong German influence in its architecture. Several thousand ethnic Germans still live there. The road from Baku to Ganca is one of the country's most scenic. 180 mi/290 km west of Baku.
