Overview

Introduction

Fang, Thailand, is primarily a transit point for visitors who are taking the boat north along the Kok River to Chiang Rai (from Fang, it's only a couple of miles/kilometers to Tha Ton, where the boats depart). The five-hour trip passes interesting villages and can be an exhilarating ride. Afterward, there's usually an overnight stay in Chiang Rai. Fang is 100 mi/160 km north of Chiang Mai.
