Overview

Introduction

This ancient site (the town is called Susa today) was once the port for Cyrene (modern-day Shahhat). There are many ruins in the area, some of which are now underwater. Worth visiting are the well-preserved amphitheater, three Byzantine basilicas, Roman baths and the museum. 130 mi/210 km northeast of Benghazi.
