Overview

Introduction

Perched on the banks of Lake Kaptai, near the Chittagong Hill Tracts, Rangamati is a good base for exploring the area. Many boat trips are possible on the huge lake (take along your own lunch), including one to Kaptai. On the other side of the lake near the Myanmar border is the undeveloped Pablakhali Wildlife National Park. Be aware that Rangamati can be a high-risk area for visitors. Check the conditions with local authorities before heading out. 40 mi/65 km northeast of Chittagong.
