Ghomrassen

Ghomrassen

Overview

Introduction

This sparsely populated Berber village is famous for its weaving. Attractions also include camels, the little Sidi Arfa Mosque and local architecture (houses crammed in between huge rocks). About 4 mi/6 km north is the well-preserved Ksar Haddada, now an inn (marhal). While not deluxe, it's worth visiting. The closest good hotel is in Tataouine. 60 mi/100 km south of Gabes.
