Tai National Park

Tai National Park

Overview

Introduction

This park includes a large area of lowland rain forest in the southwestern part of the country. The park has no tourist facilities—the government policy is to preserve the forest in its natural state (poachers and renegade loggers aren't cooperating, however). Visitors can spot chimpanzees, elephants, buffalo, antelope and warthogs in the park. Try to allow several days for a visit because the roads in the area are very bad. 235 mi/380 km west of Abidjan.
