Huvalu Tropical Rain Forest

Huvalu Tropical Rain Forest

Overview

Introduction

Truly one of the most impressive spots in the South Pacific, the Huvalu Conservation Area (often referred to as the Huvalu Rain Forest) is a world of ebony, Tahitian chestnut trees and other lush foliage. Located on the southeastern side of Niue, the rain forest demands quite a bit of walking, so be sure to wear comfortable shoes. A bit south of the forest trail network is the access trail to barren coral rocks of Tongo Chasm, where surf pounds against high cliffs. With its wild view, it's a wonderful place for a picnic. 10 mi/16 km east of Alofi.
