Yankari National Park

Yankari National Park

Overview

Introduction

The wildlife in Nigeria's Yankari National Park is less impressive than that of countries in East Africa, but the park, located on a savanna, does have a few lions, crocodiles, elephants, baboons, hippos and several species of antelope. Yankari has been upgraded, and there's now a fleet of vehicles to take visitors on game drives. The Wikki Camp accommodations have also undergone a complete refurbishment.

The highlight at Yankari National Park is the Wikki Warm Spring; an impossibly pretty green stream where you can wallow in the crystal clear waters under the sausage and tamarind trees. 510 mi/820 km northeast of Lagos.
