Located 90 mi/145 km east of Charleston, Summersville Lake, West Virginia's largest lake, is surrounded by 60 mi/97 km of shoreline. The waters of the Gauley River, fed by the Williams, Cranberry and Cherry rivers (all popular for trout fishing) are pooled into a lake with 2,790 acres/1,129 hectares of surface water.
Bubbles Cove and Long Point are favorite spots for snorkeling and scuba diving, and hiking, biking, rock climbing, golf, camping, swimming, fishing and boating are all available.
