Smugglers Notch

Smugglers Notch

Overview

Introduction

Smugglers' Notch ski area is located just outside Jeffersonville, Vermont. Its namesake is a narrow mountain pass running adjacent to Sterling Mountain, which smugglers used many years ago.

The ski area consists of three ski mountains—Morse Mountain, with terrain geared more towards families and beginners, and Sterling and Madonna mountains, geared more towards advanced skiers and snowboarders.

Smuggler's Notch Ski Area also boasts the East Coast's only triple black-diamond trail, The Black Hole, for only the most experience skiers and snowboarders.

Smugglers’ Notch Resort is nestled in the heart of Vermont's Green Mountains, with more than 3,000 acres/1,200 hectares of forests and mountains. Smuggler's Notch recieves the second highest snowfall average in Vermont behind Jay Peak. A fleet of double chairlifts service a variety of terrain, including novice trails at Morse Mountain and The Village area, and intermediate and expert terrain on the main mountains.
