Sisters

Sisters

Overview

Introduction

Sisters, Oregon, claims to be the llama capital of North America. More than 200 of the animals graze there on a llama-breeding ranch (located near the Mount Bachelor ski area).

The commercial district of Sisters preserves the feeling of an 1880s town with its eclectic shops, galleries and eateries.

Sisters is a popular destination for tourists because of the variety of activites available there. In the summer, there's biking, hiking, fly-fishing, canoeing, kayaking, golf and horseback-riding on a working ranch. In the winter, there's alpine and cross-country skiing and snowshoeing.
