Polihale State Park

Polihale State Park

Overview

Introduction

Polihale State Park is a 140-acre/57-hectare, 7-mi-/11-km-long beach at the end of Highway 50. The beautiful gold sand beach offers incredible views of the terminus of the Na Pali sea cliffs.

Getting to the remote beach can be a challenge; a four-wheel drive vehicle is needed to navigate the extremely bumpy and deep sand. Most car rental companies prohibit use of their vehicles on the access road. Roads can become flooded during heavy rains. Swimming there can be dangerous, especially in the winter months. There is a severe shore break and rip currents.

Picnicking, shore fishing and tent camping are offered.
