Morden

Morden

Overview

Introduction

Set in the scenic Pembina Valley, about a 90-minute drive southwest of Winnipeg, Morden's Canadian Fossil Discovery Centre houses the world's largest collection of marine fossils, all of them found in Manitoba, a large part of which was once the bottom of a prehistoric lake.

The museum's best fossils are of the mosasaur (a ferocious marine reptile), and Bruce, a replica of an 80-million-year-old tylosaur.
