Los Olivos

Los Olivos

Overview

Introduction

Los Olivos, California, is a small, charming and historic town located in the Santa Ynez Valley, about 10 minutes from Solvang and 128 mi/206 km northwest of Los Angeles. Named after the first ranch in the area, which had 5,000 olive trees, the town is now surrounded by expansive vineyards and horse ranches.

Beyond wine tasting, Los Olivos is known for its eclectic shops and art galleries, epicurean restaurants, antiques and intimate day spas. Many of the residential buildings downtown date back more than 100 years to when the town was served by a stage coach line and the Pacific Coast railway.
