Lanesboro

Overview

Introduction

Almost on the Iowa border, tiny Lanesboro has spawned an active artists colony, with year-round playhouse performances, galleries, vintage shops and appealing bed-and-breakfasts. Located in the heart of Amish country, it also offers buggy tours. Self-guided tours along the Root River bike trail are a good way to see the area; several rental shops supply bikes and cross-country skis. Lanesboro is 120 mi/195 km southeast of Minneapolis and St. Paul.
