Holualoa

Holualoa

Overview

Introduction

Located on the upland slopes, Holualoa is a well-kept town of resident artists and shops in the heart of Kona coffee country, 5 mi/8 km southeast of Kailua-Kona. Spend some time exploring the many art specialty shops, galleries and studios. Look for Holualoa Gallery, the converted coffee mill that's now home to the Kona Art Center.

There are more than 600 coffee farms in the Kona area, and many offer tours to the public. Visit one of the thriving coffee orchards to learn about how the beans are harvested, processed and roasted. Be sure to try a homemade sticky bun and a steaming cup of Kona coffee at the Holuakoa Cafe before you leave.
