Gander

Gander

Overview

Introduction

Familiar to U.S. and Canadian veterans of World War II as the Crossroads of the World, Gander is still a major aviation center for trans-Atlantic flights stopping off in Newfoundland and Labrador.

Be sure to visit the North Atlantic Aviation Museum (https://northatlanticaviationmuseum.com), located near the airport, as well as the famous mural Flight and Its Allegories in the Gander Airport terminal.

The Festival of Flight, held every August, is a celebration of Gander's aviation history, with dances, sporting events and a folk festival.
