Introduction

There is a lot to do and see around the small community of Gallatin Gateway, Montana, including hiking, horseback riding, fly-fishing, white-water rafting, skiing, mountain biking, golf, shopping, snowshoeing, wildlife tours and snowmobiling.

The Museum of the Rockies is home base of paleontologist Jack Horner, of Jurassic Park fame, as well as other dinosaur specialists. https://museumoftherockies.org.

Bozeman Hot Springs is 5 mi/8 km north of the Gallatin Gateway Inn at the center of town, boasting 10 mineral pools of varying temperatures which are drained every day, as well as an outdoor pool and both wet and dry saunas. https://bozemanhotsprings.co.

A short 20-minute drive northwest is the Missouri Headwaters State Park. It was a geographical focal point to early Native Americans, trappers, traders and settlers. An easy 40-mi/64-km drive west of the Inn, the Lewis and Clark Caverns State Park is another fun day outing for people of all ages, featuring one of the most beautiful limestone caverns in the Northwest.
