Eastham

Eastham

Overview

Introduction

Eastham, Massachusetts, quietly ignores the world's trends and fashions and is an excellent place for swimming in a freshwater pond or bicycling.

Eastham is often just a resting place for motorists, but it's not a bad idea to stop to see the Edward Penniman House with its eight-sided cupola. The captain-to-be ran away to sea when he was just 11 years old; he built this house with his seafaring fortune.

Also look for the Old Eastham Windmill (a wind-driven grist mill circa 1680) and the oft-photographed Nauset Light.
