IJmuiden, pronounced "Eye Muiden" for non-Dutch speakers, is located at the entrance of the Amsterdam North Sea Canal. IJmuiden is a small town that functions mainly as a gateway to Amsterdam, but if you have extra time in town, be sure to check out the enormous North Sea Locks.
