Introduction

Dandong, China, is a fascinating city to visit for two reasons: It is the site of the epic and illuminating Museum to Commemorate the War to Resist U.S. Aggression and Aid Korea, and it offers visitors a rare glimpse into North Korea—literally. North Korea lies just across the Yalu River, and if you're lucky, a wave to children on the other bank will be answered.
