Warwick

Warwick

Overview

Introduction

Located minutes from Providence and a half-hour from Newport, this city is favored for its two dozen marinas on Narragansett Bay and 40 mi/65 km of coastline.

On a sunny day, visit Goddard Memorial State Park, in a section of Warwick called Potowomut. It means "Land of Fire" in the language of the native Narragansett people, who named this neck of land more than 300 years ago.

On a rainy day, you can either head for the Warwick Museum (changing exhibitions of regional art) or for one of the area's two large shopping malls, which attract visitors from all over southern New England.
