Ruthin

Ruthin

Overview

Introduction

The foremost attraction in Ruthin is the 13th-century medieval fortress overlooking the River Clwyd. The castle is now a luxury hotel with splendid gardens, excellent medieval banquets and rooms with atmosphere. (Don't confuse the real castle with the Castle Hotel in town.)

Ruthin, which is 156 mi/251 km north of Cardiff, also has an excellent crafts center where you can watch local artisans create glassware, ceramics and stoneware pottery.
