Piatra Neamt

Overview

Introduction

Piatra Neamt is an attractive city in Moldavia. There's not a lot to do, but it affords gorgeous scenery—it's in the shadow of three mountains, near pine forests and lakes. The Neamt Monastery nearby should not be missed (fantastic religious art). Other nearby monasteries include Agapia and Varatec, both of which have rich collections of icons. 170 mi/275 km north of Bucharest.
