Leeds

Leeds

Overview

Introduction

Although Leeds, England, isn't a traditional tourist stop, the city has benefited from significant renovation. Shoppers will be particularly interested in the Victorian arcades, which contain a variety of upscale shops, including the only Harvey Nichols outside of London. The vast exhibits in the Royal Armouries are well worth a visit (the armaments were moved there from the Tower of London). Leeds also has some good art galleries.

Nearby places to visit include the outstanding Harewood House (it also has a playground for kids), the Bronte Parsonage Museum in Haworth and the excellent Yorkshire Sculpture Park 20 mi/32 km to the south.

Leeds is located 40 mi/65 km northeast of Manchester.
