Quincy, Massachusetts, just 7 mi/21 km south of Boston, is aptly called the City of Presidents—both John Adams and his son John Quincy Adams hailed from there. The Adams National Historical Park includes the birthplace of both men and an Adams family home. (The buildings are open May-October.) United First Parish Church, which dates from 1828, is the burial site of the two presidents and their wives.
Equally important to New England's, if not to national, history is the very first Dunkin Donuts store, which opened in Quincy in 1950. You can still order a "large regular" in the store, located at 543 Southern Artery. And remember to pronounce the city's name as "Kwin-zee."
