Grafton

Grafton

Overview

Introduction

Grafton is so perfect you'll think you've wandered onto a movie set, but you're really just 95 mi/150 km southeast of Burlington. Grafton is one of the most meticulously restored villages in Vermont, courtesy of the Windham Foundation, a preservation fund.

Its centerpiece is the pleasant Old Tavern at Grafton, a 1788 inn where you almost expect Ethan Allen himself to ride up to its broad, rocker-lined porches and stride inside for a pint of ale. While you're there, try some locally made Grafton cheddar, sold at a number of country stores in the area.
