Ellicott City

Ellicott City

Overview

Introduction

Cascading down steep, rocky hills just west of Baltimore, Ellicott City, Maryland, is a former mill town that now attracts artists and shoppers. Founded in 1772, it's a good place to hunt for antiques and visit historical sites. Many of the buildings are made of granite.

The B&O Railroad Station Museum features a restored 1927 caboose and other displays, and the Firehouse Museum has fire-fighting memorabilia.
