Introduction

Located in southern Bulgaria about 62 mi/100 km east of Plovdiv and 148 mi/235 km east of Sofia, Stara Zagora has many historic and recreational sites. If you're in the area, be sure to visit the remains of a settlement from the Neolithic Age, which is said to be one of the best preserved in Europe, and catch a mineral bath at one of the spa resorts.
