Salisbury

Salisbury

Overview

Introduction

Near Stonehenge, 75 mi/120 km southwest of London, the town of Salisbury, England, merits a visit to see its enormous cathedral (you'll see its spire long before you get there) and the Salisbury and South Wiltshire Museum. This and other fine buildings are within the walled streets of the Cathedral Close, a tranquil, green precinct that is the largest of its kind in England.

While in the area, be sure to see Wilton House, a superb country manor.
