Curepipe

Overview

Introduction

Curepipe, the commercial center of Mauritius, is 10 mi/16 km southeast of Port Louis and has a good variety of restaurants and shops. The town is the center of the model-ship industry. A few miles/kilometers southwest is Trou aux Cerfs, an extinct volcano whose enormous crater (600 ft/185 m wide and 280 ft/85 m deep) teems with tropical plants.
