Overview

Introduction

This town near the border with Ghana has some fine French colonial buildings and a large market. It also has an interesting old Islamic university. Nearby is the village of Soko, where there are many tame monkeys that are more than happy to accept tourists' bananas. Because Soko is so near the border, be sure to carry your passport while in the area—you may be asked for it. 200 mi/325 km northeast of Abidjan.
